Overview

ProductFlo Sync lets teams lock, version, and collaborate on engineering files (including CAD) in real time. This guide covers the core features you'll use day-to-day: workspaces, uploads, previewing, comments, history, conflicts, trash, and locks.

Getting Started

  1. Open ProductFlo Sync and sign in.
  2. Pick your current workspace from the header menu or create a new one.
  3. Use the Upload button to add files. Supported formats include common CAD and 3D types like .step, .stl, .igs, .obj, .gltf, and more.

Workspaces and Members

  • Switch workspace: Use the Workspace button in the header to switch between your workspaces.
  • Create workspace: Click New Workspace and provide a name (e.g., team-alpha).
  • Invite members: Open Members and click Invite User to send email invites.

Files

  • Upload: Click Upload, select a file, and confirm the preflight. If you have a known base version (etag), it's used to avoid overwrites.
  • Preview: Select a file to open it in the viewer. Text files show an inline preview; larger 3D files open in the embedded viewer.
  • Open in new tab: Use the link next to the viewer title to open the file in a new tab.
  • Delete: Use the Delete button to move a file to Trash.
  • Conflicting uploads: If someone else updated a file since your base version, your upload is saved as a separate copy (e.g., name_conflict_1699999999999__by_alice.ext) so you can resolve later.

Locks

Locks help your team avoid conflicting edits. When you lock a file, others can see that you are the lock owner.

  • Lock: Click Lock on a selected file to claim the lock.
  • Unlock: When finished, click Unlock.
  • Request Edit: Ask the current lock owner to release or grant you edit access.

Comments

Use the comments panel below the viewer to leave notes and discuss changes with your team.

History and Revert

  • Click History to view version history, timeline, and graph.
  • Select a past version and use Revert to roll back.

Conflict Resolution

When conflicting versions occur, the Conflict Wizard helps you compare and accept the correct version.

  • Open the Conflicts list in the left panel.
  • Launch the wizard, preview versions, and Accept Selected Version.

Accepted content is applied to all files with the same base name in the workspace and conflicts are cleared.

Trash

  • View deleted files in the Trash section.
  • Use Restore to bring a file back.
